S. sediforme plants were propagated at the Laboratory of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture. More specifically, 400 apical stem cuttings with a length of 5 cm were received from mother
plants on 15 October 2009 and placed in 50 mm × 50 mm × 50 mm pallets filled with 30% sandy loam soil, 40% peat, and 30% perlite. A rooting hormone (IBA, Rooton DP) was placed at the basal
end of the cuttings to promote rooting and the cuttings were then placed in a greenhouse.
