2.3. Instrumentation
On-line HPLC–DPPH assay was performed using an Agilent 1100
series HPLC with a diode array detector (DAD) and an Agilent 1260
series HPLC with a visual web detector (VWD). The separation of
the sample extract was carried out using an Agilent Eclipse XDBC18
column (250mm×4.6mm, 5m). The reaction coils used were
made of polyetheretherketone (PEEK) tubing (15.0m×0.25mm
i.d.). A HPLC–MS (Agilent 1100 Series LC/MSD Trap, Agilent Technologies,
USA) fitted with an electrospray ionization (ESI) source was used to identify the antioxidant compounds presented in the
extract.
