A swirl fluidized bed featuring an annular bed and inclined injection of gas through distributor blades was studied by Sreenivasan and Raghavan [1]; they reported the hydrodynamic characteristics of swirl regime of operation, including their experimental results as well as an analytical model. Dolidovich [4] developed a swirled spouted bed to increase the efficiency of heattreatment of polyfractional and fine particles and to reduce theirentrainment.
