Sergio Rossi’s refurbished flagship in Tokyo shows how attention to detail can pay off in terms of visual appeal
The newly refurbished Sergio Rossi flagship in Tokyo's Shinjuku Takashimaya was designed by London-based design company Studioilse, in collaboration with the Italian shoemaker's Creative Director, Francesco Russo. The store, which was originally opened in 2007, is 40 square meters of trading space that in this new concept has been divided into two areas: the “Front Stage” and “Back Stage” with the shoe playing the central role in both areas.
The front stage features brass and glass display cases and brass multi-level display cubes to afford the shoes maximum exposure and there is a red velvet chaise-longue to contrast with the classic black and white Italian marble herringbone patterned floor.
