Similarly, in our results the strain MBP 2.1 produced a significant
effect on the weight of both these parts. The weight of shoot was
recorded as 400 mg greater as compare to control, while the weight of
root was 450 mg more than the weight of control (Fig. 5b). The strain
JH 2-2 of Bacillus species, which were isolated from the rhizosphere of
plants at a multi-metal contaminated mine site, has the potential to
reduce Cr(VI) to Cr(III) and promote plant growth by reducing Cr
toxicity and producing IAA in stress condition.
