Although it is more economical to prepare CaO-doped UO2- 10 wt% Gd2O3 fuel pellets by traditional powder metallurgy
method, UO2eGd2O3 fuel pellets prepared in this way reveal shortcomings such as poor uniformity of gadolinium oxide, difficulty in sintering densification, more internal pores and flaws and a lot of dust, which bring about environmental pollution and damage to people's physical health.
