In this study, nine Philippine genotypes whose were stored for six months under airconditioned room were test for their initial germination using in vivo assay. Germination of the seeds for all 9 papaya genotypes tested occurred one week after sowing. Table 1 shows that there are not significances differences in percent germination among the nine Philippine papaya genotypes tested as revealed by ANOVA using F-test at 0.05 level. However, F-test showed marginal differences in percent germination among the nine Philippine papaya genotypes tested (Table 2). Genotype 4172 had the highest germination of 98.33% and 4173 had 96.67%. The lowest germination was observed in 383 with 73.33% and 344 with 55% germination.
