Lincoln and Guba’s (1985) concepts of credibility, dependability, and transferability, as interpreted by Graneheim and Lundman (2004), were used to provide support for the trustworthiness of the research. Credibility addresses the fit between the data collection method and study aims and the data collected. Using focus groups to capitalize on group interactions is consistent with a culturally sensitive
approach to research. Continuing the groups until data saturation reduced the possibility that information of importance to participants was not expressed. The member validation meetings and the use of representative quotes supported the data
