For Ni-geikielite solid solutions (Mg1−xNixTiO3, x = 0.1–0.4) prepared by the ceramic route, the increase of Ni-doping enhanced ilmenite stabilization, obtaining almost single phase of Ni-geikielite for x = 0.4 at both firing temperatures (1200 and 1400 ◦C). However, the increase of firing temperature from 1200 to 1400 ◦C did not result in a decrease of secondary MgTi2O5 karrooite at lower Ni loadings (x < 0.4),being this phase present in small and very similar amounts at both temperatures.
