DLSS causing neurogenic claudication is a leading cause
of lower extremity symptoms and limited walking ability in the elderly. Other common conditions such as a
PVD, hip osteoarthritis, and GTPS can also give rise to
similar symptoms and restricted walking ability which
makes identifying the main source of symptoms a challenge in the older population. A careful and through history and physical examination, and keen understanding of
the underlying pathoanatomy and pathophysiology of the
common conditions is paramount for accurate diagnosis
and appropriate management
