Because of the usual size of manganese oxide
particles, roughly ranging from 1.5 to 50 μm [23],
tests were also carried out (Phase III), selecting
an appropriate type of polyelectrolyte, doses and
time of addition,.in order to increase flocks size
and therefore the Mn removal through the commercial
35 μm filter. Table 5, Table 6 and Table 7
show results from runs 7–9 carried out using three
different doses of several polyelectrolytes at the
same pH (8.5), oxidant dose (1.74 mg/L), and 0.45
