The concentration of Lf in human milk is usually at high levels ranging
from 1 mg/mL in mature milk to 7 mg/mL in colostrum whereas
only minor amounts of Lf exist in bovine milk (0.02–0.2 mg/mL)
[7,8]. Oral administration of Lf separated from cow’s milk can benefit
both infants and adults [5].
