1. It's the first and only Tissot boutique stateside. This isn't Tissot's first time in Manhattan; the watchmaker is the official timepiece of Madison Square Garden and spectators can see its branded lobby clocks—installed with the help of the New York Rangers and the New York Knicks in 2012—throughout the venue. But with the opening of its Fifth Avenue boutique, Tissot has officially arrived. “We are very proud to have our first U.S. boutique in the city’s bustling Rockefeller Center neighborhood” Tissot President François Thiébaud told us.
2. You can tell time on an exclusive clock. In addition to a wide selection of Tissot watches, including the latest solar-powered T-Touch timepieces, the new boutique features a floor-to-ceiling clock display that plays up the brand's touch watch design. "This is the first to be displayed on the famous Fifth Avenue of New York City and is a Tissot exclusivity for that boutique," Thiébaud said.
3. You might see a celeb or two. On September 9, NBA star and brand ambassador Tony Parker joined Tissot and more than 500 guests at the boutique to celebrate it's opening and the release of the new Tissot T-Touch Expert Solar Tony Parker 2014 Limited Edition Watch. Another sports star, NASCAR driver Danica Patrick, stopped by on September 24 to see the boutique and introduce the limited-edition Tissot T-Race Danica Patrick Watch. Only time will tell who will hit the boutique next.
