The line graph gives information about the variation of the household use of CD player, home computer, mobile phone and internet access in the UK from 1996 to 2003.
The basic general trend in this graph is upward. To begin with, CD player remained the most popular technological device in the UK among these four, the percentage of domestic access to CD player rose gradually from 60 percent in 1996/1997 to over 80 percent in 2002/2003. The similar pattern is for home computer, which there was a slight increase of percentage people using home computer from nearly 30 percent in 1996/1997 to over 50 percent in 2002/2003.
On the other hand, in 1996/1997, the percentage of mobile phones was the lowest, hitting a low of 18 percent. However, it increased dramatically to almost 70 percent in 2002/2003. Similarly, internet access, it started at the lowest percentage with only 10 percent in 1998/1999 and then it climbed significantly to over 40 percent in 2002/2003.
To sum up, all four types of modern technologies have shown an upward trend that CD player and mobile phone were the two top modern technology accesses in home.
