The maximum activity of recombinant enzyme was observed
at pH 8 (Fig. 6A) beyond which decrease in activity was observed.
It was encouraging to observe that even at highly alkaline pH of
11, 70% of activity was observed. The optimum temperature of
the enzyme was 50–60 ◦C (Fig. 6B). The thermal stability curve
indicated that enzyme was 100% active up to 60 ◦C after that
enzyme activity start declining. When enzyme was incubated for
1 h at 100 ◦C the activity was lost completely. The optimum pH,
temperature and thermal stability ofthe recombinant enzyme were
similar to the enzyme of wild strain.
