Furthermore, CA can also absorb high-density solvents (e.g., chloroform) from the bottom of the water. In Fig. 5b,when a monolithic CA was immersed into the water and put in contact with the chloroform (dyed with Sudan III), it absorbed thechloroform from the water rapidly and completely. No water in the CA after absorption found, which also demonstrates very high selective absorption for the organic solvents and oils.
