4. Conclusions
Industrial hemp seeds’ high seed yield and high oil content
makes it a potentially new crop source for biodiesel production.
It has been shown that hemp virgin oil can be converted into hemp
biodiesel with a high product yield. Furthermore, hemp biodiesel
meets the standards for biodiesel fuel set by ASTM 6751-09. The
distinct properties of hemp biodiesel are its low cloud point and
low kinematic viscosity. These promising cold flow properties
make hemp biodiesel attractive and competitive.
