Plant does not need soil to grow, but only what soil provides anchorage, support, water, air,
and nutrients. If all these needs could be met without the use of soil, the plants would thrive anyway. Hydroponics is the growing of plants in a liquid culture. Water is obviously
available, and depending on the specific needs have given plants, air is available in moving
water or aeration by bubbles, if necessary. A complete nutrient solution is added to the water
that provides the correct concentration of all the macro elements (David1984).
