On
this basis, the assumption is that both sensitised and non-sensitised
subjects that are regularly exposed to a particular food, and to
which they have mounted an IgG antibody response (this having
been shown above to be a normal consequence of exposure),
will have demonstrable antigen-specific Th cells. It has also been
assumed that in food sensitised subjects those Th cells would be
biased towards a Th2-type phenotype supporting the production
of IgE antibody
