Cox's Bazar South Forest Division is the southernmost Forest of Bangladesh (Fig. 1).
It covers 44,174.91 hectares of forested areas under 10 Forest Ranges and 44 Forest Beats.
Present study covered all the ranges that are mostly hilly.
These are close to the sea along the western boundary.
Many large and small streams and creeks originated from the hills of Cox's Bazar South Forest Division that end up either into the Naf River or the Bay of Bengal.
