I have a few questions in order to understand the full picture:
- What is the forecasted need for Fuchs?
- How many bags will they need per month?
- When will they start filling bags?
- If we send 100 units on the first order, how long would that last for them?
I’m sure Fuchs understand that we don’t have limited stock for a new customer, so they could accept to have a smaller number in the first delivery.
I presume we deliver complete units; inner bag + transport bag with poles + pallet + stacking frame. A full 20ft container load is 80 units from Thailand. As the inner bags are packed 20/box we should keep the orders as a multiple of 20.
The most economical in this case would be to take 80 units in the first delivery. This is a full 20ft container. The freight cost per unit is not more expensive for you than what 2 container loads would be.
If 150 units really is a must of some reason, then we have to send 33 inner bags from Finland by air. It then makes most sense to send them directly to Sydney airport. The rest of the items of the 150 units would be sent by sea from Thailand.
I will check the airfreight cost, so Fuchs can decide if they want to pay this.
I come back with more information tomorrow morning Finnish time.
Despite small issues with volumes and deliveries now in the beginning, the most important thing is that Fuchs is starting to use Fluid-Bag. This is a very positive thing. Good work there Shaun!
