Why are you in the MPH?
I have been involved in working with reproductive health campaigns and HIV/AIDS research, however I’ve had limited knowledge about public health. So, I would like to learn more and understand the subject better, particularly in the research aspect. I hope this great experience at EHESP will make us become public health experts.
Tell us about your background.
I am from Thailand. I have been living in Bangkok for around 20 years and this is my first time living somewhere else outside of Asia. Regarding my educatioional background, I obtained a bachelor degree in Social Science with a concentration in International Studies from Mahidol University International College. Aside from my academic background, I enjoy watching movies, walking around the city, or even reading in the park (only when the weather is warm) and I LOVE diving. After my master, I am planning to become a dive master!
Tell us about your work experience.
I have been working for International organizations mainly in Bangkok, Thailand for the past 4 years. I started my career with INGOs interning with Oxfam GB Thailand taking care of a contingency plan politics related and UNESCO Asia and the Pacific supporting a healthy sexuality campaign, the Story of Love, a reproductive health education. Then I started a full-time professional life with National Democratic Institute (NDI) assisting in programme planning and implementing political development throughout the country, working with local provincial representatives as well as members of parliaments.
Recently I was with TREAT Asia/amfAR – the Foundation of AIDS Research, assisting the Director of Research, coordinating the Research Team, and particularly supporting the Hepatitis C Treatment Study in HIV Co-infected Patient in Asia. This is the first regional study on focusing on this issue, I am proud to be considered a part of the team even though I could not contribute until the end of the study.

What is your favorite thing about Paris?
Nothing is better than walking along the Seine. It is so calm with a nice breeze in the evening. Everything changes by hours. You will see owners and staff setting up their restaurants, people getting together for food and drinks, and lights coming up. C’est la vie!
Where do you see yourself in 15 years?
I hope I will be involving in this public health area at least as a researcher or a policy analyst. I also hope I can continue my family business.
What is your favorite food?
WOW. I love food in general, so this is super difficult. Since I’m from Thailand, it might be bias to choose Thai food. I would say Japanese cuisine then. I love every single thing about it – from food, dessert, to drink – and I mean tea, not sake! (I don’t like sake). My most favorite dish is a chirashi bowl and a tempura soba with a hot sencha green tea. Mmmmm yum!
What do you do in your spare time?
I think I spoke too much in my background section!
What do you like/dislike about the MPH so far?
Our class is so diverse! Everyone has unique background both in personal and professional experiences. We have so much to offer and contribute to our classes. Fortunately, I have not yet discovered any things I majorly dislike so far.
Which Disney character would you want to be?
I love this part. I would like to be Olaf and Maleficent because both characters have such warm-hearted personalities =)
What would you do with a million euros?
I would use it for personal and family spending, investment, and scholarship for students. What an ideal philanthropist!
