Hi there. My name is Ash. I live in California in the Eastern Sierra. It's a small town right in the in between of Yosemite, Sequoia and Death Valley National Parks about 3 hours drive north of Los Angeles. It's a very beautiful area and I can't imagine ever moving back to the city. I lived in Los Angeles for a long time, but I prefer my desert and forests and mountains now.
I'm not a very typical American. I've traveled all over the world and I love other cultures. I'm a democratic socialist, which isn't very popular here. I'm an environmentalist, I love animals, and I'm very passionate about nature in general. I'm also a vegetarian. I spend a lot of time in the mountains. In fact, I'm usually outside as much as possible. :P
Generally I'd say I'm a good person. Or at least I try to be. I can be intense at times, but mostly I'm relaxed and like to laugh a lot. Like a lot. hahaha. I like to think I'm an intellectual, though I meet people all the time with much more knowledge than I have.
I'm a volunteer firefighter, and I enjoy helping people. I'm also very active in my community. I read a lot of books, love art, and like learning about everything. When I say everything... I mean everything! haha
It's a little hard for me to relate to people where I live, mostly because I think that a lot of people here are superficial and I am not. I take people how they are, and I don't care what they look like, where they are from, or what possessions they have. I think society today is very non-personal and I don't really enjoy the "modern world" very much. That might make me a little weird, but I've made a lot of great friends over the years and I think that having your own different ideas attracts like-minded people. I love my friends and family. I think that is most important.
I know I'm searching for someone. I'm 33 so I don't really care about running around trying to meet women anymore. I just want to meet people from a different cultural background. If a friendship grows into something more, I'd welcome that. ;)
***I sincerely apologize for all the ignorant, rude and disrespectful foreign guys on here. Some men just don't have any class or grace. Some of us are still gentlemen. :)
