Sarah Palin's attorney has ripped charges by a Huffington Post blogger that she plagiarized phrases from a Newt Gingrich article. Palin "repeatedly lifted" Gingrich's wording when she introduced Ronald Reagan's son in Anchorage last week, wrote Geoffrey Dunn, who's writing a book on Palin. But Palin's lawyer said she properly attributed her remarks. Palin referred to Gingrich only twice during the speech, and began by saying that he wrote a "good article about Reagan," both Dunn and AP report.
"Far from 'lifting' or plagiary, this is proper attribution in a political speech," her lawyer says. "It is abundantly clear in context, and even in subcontext, that the overview of President Reagan's legacy was attributed to Newt Gingrich.
