Analyzing the results of the statistically designed compression
tests by using ANOVA method showed that lubricant type,
material type (color), and deformation speed made a difference
in deformation load, and hence flow behavior of plasticine
in positive sense. Moreover, there were significant interactions
between all main factors leading to positive effect on the flow
behavior of plasticine. It can therefore be concluded that we can recommend low level of lubricant type, vaseline, to reduce friction
effects as much as possible, high level of material type, white
plasticine, to maximize the strength of plasticine, and low level
of deformation speed to minimize the load, of course energy
and the cost. It should be noted here that since plasticine is very
soft and sensitive material, the specimen preparation procedure
has to be taken into consideration when determining its flow
properties, i.e., batch effect on its flow properties can also be
investigated as a main effect.
