Faculty
College faculty members teach all courses. Senior faculty members have a master’s or
doctoral degree and substantial teaching experience. Newer faculty members typically
have doctoral degrees. Clinical engineers with at least fifteen years of industrial experience teach the biomedical engineering technology courses. One technician is assigned
primarily to the biomedical engineering technology program to maintain the equipment.
Advisory Committee
Input is solicited from the advisory committee in order to ensure that the academic program
produces graduates with the knowledge and skills necessary to work successfully in a clinical environment. This committee consists of representatives from hospitals, shared service
companies, and medical device manufacturers. Committee members are kept abreast of any
proposed changes in the curriculum, and meetings are held at least annually to discuss these
changes and to obtain input on any matters that the members consider important.
