Hi I am a 34 year old female and unfortunately have smoked for 20 years. Last week I had a CAT scan to check on a blood clot after having my gall bladder out.
There was no clot but there was a 3/4 inch spot on my right lung middle quadrant. Last July I had a chest x-ray which did not show this so my doctor was very concerned and called me in for the "talk."
When I saw a Pulmonologist a couple of days later she told me that it didn't seem like anything to be worried about because the spot was triangular shaped and had strands coming out of it.
She said the big concern was that it was so big yet wasn't there in July, however the "Scout" of the CAT scan didn't pick it up either so that worry was out the window.
I have a PET scan in the morning and my question is, is there some other disease if God willing this isn't cancer, that would cause such a defined shaped scar?
