Single-phase induction motors are widely used in the
home and industrial applications. Although the power of
these motors is low the number of them is high and they
use a large share of produced electrical power. On the
other hand the efficiency of these motors is low so we can
say that a large amount of electrical power is wasted by
these types of motors. In this paper, we proposed to use a
power electronic drive to increase the efficiency of the
single phase induction motors. In addition, we proposed a
new method for the vector control of the motor.
