The term data mining, in its most common use, is very new.
The term previously had been used pejoratively by some statisticians
and other specialists to refer to the process of analyzing
the same data repeatedly until an acceptable result arose
[10]. By the early 1990s, a number of forces converged to make
data mining a very hot topic. It has subsequently been widely
applied in retailing, banking and financial services, insurance,
marketing and sales and telecommunications
