pure chloroform) blue solutions are formed with maxima at the following
wave-lengths : -1Lcarotene. 590mu; vitamin A,, 617mp; vitamin A?,
693mp., the extinction coefficients for provitamins A in general being very
much lower than those for the vitamins A.
