Originality of our study proceeds from the study context and measurement tool
(Organisational Values Questionnaire based on CVF) applied. Organisational culture
was studied in the hospital from Estonian health care sector, where no previous studies
on organisational culture have been conducted. Study provided insights into the health
care setting of the transitional country and identified the hospital cultural pattern,
which was different compared to the theoretical OC framework. The results from the
factor analysis indicated that the values which are characteristic to one or another
culture type could be combined and interconnected. However we believe that rapidly
changing environment and restructuring processes inside the hospital have impact on
values shared in the organisation and this in turn may influence the patient
satisfaction. We did not analyze the influence of environment on OC in details. This
may be one of the possibilities for future research.
