Body weight gain, number of eggs, total consumption and feed efficienrry
are given in Table 2. There were no significant differences in body gain and
number of eggs per hen, These results agree with those of Gregoriades et al.
( 1984), who reported no significant differences in !ive weight gain and egg
production in laying hens fed with diets containing 50, 100 and 150 g kg-’
dried tomato pulp which was lo#er in fibrr content ( I3 I.2 g kg-‘) than that
used in this experiment. Thus, tomato meal had no effect on the laying per-
formance, although the tibre content was high.
