Traditional herbal medicine is still significant constituent of human healthcare in the worldwide. There are 88 percent of residents in underdeveloped countries rely chiefly on traditional medicine for their primary health care system particularly in China, Mexico, Nigeria, and Thailand.
Thailand has been used herbs as medicine for centuries. Starting from the belief, the trial and error learning and the herb recognition. So these wisdoms become an experience and then come to be a traditional medicine.
In the north of Thailand has many traditional healing. The particularity is bringing the spiritual beliefs, the superstition consistent with native treatment. There are many provinces in the north have supported and assembled the body of knowledge of traditional medicine. For example, a traditional hospital mainly focus on massage, saunas and traditional herbal remedies by Mo Boran (traditional doctors) was established in Chiang Mai as a non-profit charitable endeavor known as the Shivagakomarpaj founder.
In Chiang Rai, there is the treatment by variety of folk healers. Specially, the use of herbs. But there is no definitive studies and explicit data collection. So we interested to study the traditional plant used by traditional healer in Chiang Rai to compile the folk wisdom not to vanish away with time by used Ethnobotanical survey.
