Alignment of large ribosomal RNA subunit (16S) sequences from Apolygus spinolae and A. lucorum obtained in this study (GenBank accession numbers KU049696–KU049703). Seven representative variants were identified in A. spinolae and one variant was detected in A. lucorum. Nucleotide position is based on thealignment of the546 bp segment including primer sites (gray background). Dots indicate same nucleotides compared to those of an A. spinolae sequence variant (KU049696). The species-specific sites between two species are indicated by open rectangular frames(at positions374and 436). Therestriction site digestibleby ClaI isrepresentedinblack background.
