are you sending your products through intermediate warehouses or dispatch straight to your real customer? when you're picking, do you pick into one container and then another box? and how many hours do you spend checking and correcting mistakes that happen in the first place?
the big advantage of this approach is that it doesn't just cut cost. Because whole activities disappear, lead time are reduced and customer service improves.
Just think: if you can find a way of cutting out activities completely then you lose the cost and the time associated with them. And this is a whole lot easier than squeezing another percent out someting you're still doing.
