Wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical networking technology represents the most promising solution
for high-capacity transport applications[1]. The physical topology of a WDM optical network consists of optical
nodes (i.e., optical cross-connects (OXCs) and optical add-drop multiplexers (OADMs) connected
by optical cable links. In recent years, multigranularity optical switching technology has been
developed to handle the rapid increase of bandwidth requirements brought about by the explosive growth in
Internet traffic[2,3]
