Unithai’s shipping & logistics business
As one of the oldest shipping, marine offshore and engineering group in Thailand, Unithai is continuously looking for new business development in the Indochina region. Besides the current shipping agency, logistics & warehouse and container terminal, shipyard, offshore engineering and offshore marine support business, Unithai is expanding steadily in new services to support the economic growth in the region.
Through our network of partnerships and joint ventures, Unithai Logistics has recently expanded to agency, warehouse and logistics business in Yangon, Myanmar through our joint venture office Unithai Chin Corp Logistics (Myanmar) Ltd. Together with our existing setup in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam under Unithai Marusen Logistics (Vietnam) Ltd., we are gradually covering all strategic location which will lead the future growth of the region. Despite that we don’t have an office in Cambodia today, we are able to serve the export and import container of Phnom Penh by barge via Ho Chi Minh under the barging service provided by our partner Saigon New Port. Together with our Thailand warehouses and distribution centres at Bangna-Trat Road Km23 and at the Amata Industrial Estate at Bangna-Trat Road Km55 which can be served as trucking depot for Phnom Penh via Poipet, Unithai will be able to serve the cargo movement to/from Cambodia too.
In our regular breakbulk liner service to Durban, South Africa and Maputo, Mozambique under Unithai and Gearbulk joint venture, we have renewed our fleet with three brand new 55,000dwt box shaped bulkers in 1st half of 2015 named Mv”Buna Arrow”, Mv”Biwa Arrow” and Mv”Matsu Arrow”. With the improvement in Thai rice export in 2015, our Sun United service to East and West Africa also increases the number of sailings in according to the need of the clients by using modern handymax and supramax vessels.
To enhance our Unithai Container Terminal services to client, three container barges are employed and operated under Unithai in 2015 to provide transfer of containers between laemchabang and Bangkok area. This gives a cheaper alternative solution to road and rail transfer of container. A new container depot located at Bangna-Trad Road KM23 is also under the pipeline and will hopefully commence operation in 2nd half of 2015.
We are continue to looking for new opportunities and new partnership in order to serve our client better in a long terms. For more information, please contact
