Factor Structure
The confirmatory factor analysis model was estimated using maximum likelihood estimates from the sample covariance matrix. The four-factor oblique model provided a good fit to the data, χ2(736, N = 498) = 949, p = .192. The goodness-of-fit indexes, Tucker–Lewis Index = .93 and comparative fit index = .94, met the criteria standards for adequacy of fit for the model. One of the items (“watching movies”) for the Boredom Susceptibility subscale did not significantly load under the factor. There were no specification errors or significant modification indexes, nor were any additional alterations of the model specified to suggest a change in the number of factors comprising the SSS–V.
