We studied the application of hot rolling or hot/warm rolling
combined with subsequent annealing to the ZK60 alloy that is
capable of large age hardening. The results showed a possibility of
producing Mg alloys sheets that are highly deformable at room
temperature due to a weakened basal texture, but become greatly
strengthened through the aging process after sheet forming.
Achievement of both high YS and high ductility (high n values)
through the optimum texture control and aging treatment is the
next challenging issue to be studied.
