I have received a number of feedback from a number of EXCO members that there has been NO COMMUNICATION on criteria of selection of maids to remain at SCBT effective Feb 1st . This is not acceptable especially when you are also not returning phone calls to face these questions.
Can you please urgently outline to all of those copied on this email on: 1) Criteria of selection and 2) Implementation plan. Please also plan to be at EXCO to explain this in person tomorrow (please provide your written paper by 3 pm today).
Needless to say, special knowledge of client needs (eg at branches or meeting room floors) plus special skills that may be required from time to time by businesses should be prioritized. We should also reward for longevity of service. Cost should not be the only definitive criteria – but efficiency of service should be taken into account.
Apparently the communication to the maids and EXCO has been very poor to date, exacerbating and aggravating what is already an emotive issue.
Please focus on the communication and allaying concerns a top priority. I had already spoken to you since Monday on the need to communicate and get feedback from EXCO as matter of priority. Needless to say, this project has been on your radar screen for the better part of a year and hence some of this work should have been done ahead of time. This last minute and dictatorship style of communication is not helpful nor acceptable. I am also not particularly pleased that my name has been used in vain as an excuse for a less than professional execution of an EXCO supported plan of action discussed a number of times in past.
Please get this rectified asap.
