While recent studies on SDA profiles in yeasts were
characterized by sometimes contradictory results (De Mot
1990; Charoenchai et al. 1997; Strauss et al. 2001), in the
present study the occurrence of SDA was rare both in
ascomycetes and basidiomycetes (Tables 1 and 2). The
absence of glucose in the overnight incubated liquid medium
proved the absence of amyloglucosidases in crude supernatant
fluids of the selected strains.
