In summary, an in vitro propagation protocol for D. ‘Zahra FR 62’,a new and promising Dendrobium hybrid, was possible by cultur-ing shoots on half-strength MS containing 1 mg/L TDZ and 0.5 mg/LBA, resulting in successful PLB formation and initial proliferation.Rapid growth and proliferation of PLBs was possible by culturingPLBs in a 3-L bioreactor with 10 vvm containing half-strength MSmedium and 0.05 mg/L BA. The culture system was improved byapplying 15 g PLBs/500 mL medium with 5 vvm DO. However, con-tinuous production of good quality PLBs was achieved by using 10 gPLBs/500 mL medium in 10 vvm DO. These PLBs converted easilyinto healthy plantlets by culturing them on half-strength MS con-taining 0.05 mg/L BA and planting the germinated PLBs on PGR-freehalf-strength MS with full vitamins. The plantlets were successfullyacclimatized ex vitro with 90–100% survival using C. rumphii bulk. The acclimatized plants grew well individually after repotting in a1:1 mixture of C. rumphii bulk and wood charcoal.
