Photocatalytic degradation of three SAD insecticides was
achieved in water using commercial available seminconductor
oxides based photocatalysts under UVA, and sunlight, while direct
photolysis was negligible. ZnO and TiO2 Degussa P25 were more
active than ZnTiO3, Zn2TiO4 or TiO2 Kronos vlp 7000 for catalyzing
the removal of these compounds, being ZnO the most efficient in
terms of insecticide degradation at constant volumetric rate of
photon absorption in the photoreactor. In addition, the main
phototransformation intermediates (enol-derivatives) were successfully
photodegraded. Finally, solar irradiation was more.
