Message to Pheeraya :::
We live outside Sweden's second biggest city Gothenburg. Oliver (the dad) is a pilot so he is away half of the month and I am (Katarina, the mum) a human rights lawyer currently trying to finish a never ending legal research/phd, so I work mainly from home. We have four children but only the youngest (3 years old) lives with me the whole month. The other three children are staying with us the first two weeks of every months. In the spring of 2016
(April) we will have another baby (I am 18 weeks pregnant).
We would need you to 'work' 25 hours/week i.e. mainly helping out with the kids and you would always be welcome to join our family activities, since we would like to consider our aupair part of the family. Everyone in the family helps with household chores, so you would be required to help out, sometimes with light cleaning etc.
It is important that you are a good swimmer since we live next to a lake and all the children love water!
If you are still interested in our family after this little summary, we have some questions for you.
Firstly, are you comfortable with eating vegetarian/vegan food at home with us and would you be able to cook the children something vegetarian at the rare occasion? The three older children are not vegetarians but when they are staying with us they eat a vegetarian diet, since we do not cook meat or fish at home. We eat mostly organic food and we do not like processed food. In the summer we grow our own vegetables and love picking berries and fruits. Are you ok with a no-meat/no-fish diet when you are with us?
Secondly, during the first two weeks when the three older children live with us we need you to drive them to school around 7.30 am and then at times pick them up from school around 15 pm. The trip takes 30 min/one way. Are you a confident and safe driver? Do you feel comfortable to drive this long with three relatively small children?
Thirdly, we care deeply for everything living, it is important for us that the
kids become compassionate towards each other, towards other human beings regardless of race, sex, religion etc as well as being compassionate towards animals and the nature as a whole. We are not religious and both me and Oliver are critical thinkers that seeks the truth rather than adapt to societies norms. For us it is important that the kids are raised in an environment where they can be open-minded and not religiously or politically indoctrinated. Are you ok with these values? What values do ýou have?
Fourthly, would you be comfortable to help out with an infant baby e.g. help with changing diapers, take him/her for a walk etc.
Fifthly, how would you discipline a child? Do you think physical punishment is Ok?
Lastly, do you have any questions for us?
Have a Lovely day!
