To induce the readers to understand the overview of the studies, Introduction section is regarded as one of a vital part in research article. This section includes background, purposes, briefly methodology, and outcome of the study. Thus, it is crucial that the writers should conceive how to write Introduction section effectively. The non-native English writers often face this serious obstacle. For this reason, the studies of moves in Introduction section in research articles have been happened in various disciplines. However, a study of analyzing moves and lexical bundles in Introduction section in tourism research articles has been not occurred yet. Thus, this study will aim to explore 1) the similarities or the differences of move structures in the Introduction section of English tourism research articles published in international journals and in Thai journals, and 2) the three or more than three-word lexical bundles in the Introduction section of tourism research articles analyzed in this study. The framework of move analysis will be based on Swales’ (2004) model revised from CARS model (1990). The method of this study will be divided into two steps. First, move analysis in Introduction section will be analyzed by using the framework of Swales’ model manually. And second, AntConc program will be utilized for a step of lexical bundles identification. The findings of this study can be beneficial for the learners in Tourism area, especially non-English writers, as the guidance for their writing research articles.
