CALL FOR ENTRY Mexico City, 25 october 2014
The idea of this exhibit is to promote watercolor painting in Mexico, showcasing the best watercolor painting being made today both internationally and in Mexico.
We would like to create a platform for watercolor exchange between Mexico and the world, promote the communication of artists from different countries to push the art of watercolor forward.
15 watercolors of the greatest watercolor painters of today will be showcased along 30 artworks that will be selected to participate from this open call for entries. The selection of artworks will be made through an international panel of major names of artists in the world of watercolor.

The exhibit will take place from february 26th to march 22nd, 2015 in the beautiful and prestigious Reyes Heroles Cultural Center, in Coyoacan, Mexico City.
ELIGIBILITY
1. The Exhibit is open to all artists who are 18 years or older; amateur and professional, from all nations.
2. Artists’ original work only. Paintings must be primarily transparent watercolor on a paper surface and unvarnished (Yupo is permitted). Other watermedia -gouache, acrylic, egg tempera and water-based composite media-, if used, must be in conjunction with the transparent watercolor. Those water media must be 20% maximum.
No digital media, photography, prints or reproductions may be used anywhere in the painting. Work must have been completed within the last five years. Paintings done in a class or workshop setting may not be submitted. Source material must be original and not derived from any published images.
3. Size. The standar size of the sheet of paper, should be between 20"x28" / 50x70 cms and 22"x30" / 56x76 cms.
JURY
Internationally recognized watercolor masters from different countries form the Jury. Their names will be shown on our website.
ENTRY PROCEDURE
Digital Entries only. Submit the high-quality digital images of your paintings in jpg, RGB format. Resolution 300 dpi with a mínimum of 1500 pixels on the longer side. Your digital images should be of your work without a mat or frame. No digital enhancement or modification is allowed.
The file should be named in the following format: artist’s name_title of painting_size (cm, length X width). For example, WilliamTurner_IvyBridge_73x53cms.jpg
E-mail entry: Send the digital images and Entry Form as attachments to mexicoiws@gmail.com
The subject of the e-mail should be the artist’s full name and Country.
ACCEPTED WORKS
30 paintings will be selected to enter the exhibit. They are going be exhibited in Reyes Heroles Cultural Center from February 26, 2015 to March 22, 2015.

VIRTUAL GALLERY
All artworks who apply to the exhibition will be on display in a virtual gallery on our blog, even if they did not achieve access to the exposition itself.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION
All entries must be submitted through email, received NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 12, 2014 (Mexico City time).
ENTRY FEES, FRAMING AND RETURN
40 USD This amount must be paid with the submission, by PayPal, WIRE or banking transfer. It is non-refundable (to receive instructions on how to pay the entry fee please contact mexicoiws@gmail.com)
Accepted works may be shipped unframed and unmatted. All framing and return postage will be at the expense of the host.

Although the utmost care will be taken in handling works of art, International Watercolor Society of Mexico and its representatives will not be responsible for loss or damage, whatever the cause. Artists release International Watercolor Society of Mexico and its representatives from all liability with respect to loss or damage to the artist’s works. It is suggested that artists should arrange their own insurance.
