Michael Joseph Jackson, also known as “The King of Pop,” was born August 29th, 1958. He was a musician, entertainer, and dancer. He was one of the most influential entertainers of all time. Michael was an icon of pop culture for his own style of fashion as well as dance moves. He became a part of the music industry at the young age of seven; Michael made his debut alongside his brothers in the band The Jackson 5. This was the start of his career, which eventually led to a solo career starting in 1971.
Beginning his career at such a young age, Michael never had a chance to live a normal childhood. He was always rehearsing with his family and/or going on tour with his band. He decided that in 1988, he was going to recreate his childhood dreams in California. Neverland was the name given to the amusement park, attracting many kids over the years. Although he seemed to be living the dream, throughout the years Michael hid a dark secret that he soon revealed for the first time in the Oprah Winfrey Show. The secret was that Michael always had a problem with as young as the age of seven. His feelings of being lonely as well as his father beating him and calling him ugly are what led Michael into the path of destruction.
It was my sister's birthday, June 25th, when I found out that the legendary Michael Jackson died. I remember the moment like if it was yesterday because of the fact that June 25th is my sister's birthday therefore helping me to remember. I was in my own room when all of a sudden my mother called my sister and I into her room to see something on television. On the news they were announcing the death of Michael Jackson. They were speaking about his autopsy results and what they believe they will find. The news casters also shared some light on the fact that the doctors were stating how it was an improper use of drugs that killed the king of pop.
