Thank you for your daily cooperation for export control operation.
As you may already know, United Nations Security Council officially announced that they had lifted Iran sanctions on January 16.
Following this announcement, EU sanctions and US sanctions have been also lifted.
Until then, US forced others countries not to engage transactions with Iran and no countries could ever make business with Iran.
Now that US has lifted sanctions, non-US entities can start transactions.
We start taking transactions request from now.
Although Iran sanctions are lifted, it only applies to nuclear weapons concern.
Iran is still one of concerned countries in Japanese regulation and there still exists concerns about Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and missile programs.
Therefore, we still place Iran in our specific countries list and we would like you to check end user and end usage before sending TCAS request to us.
For more information, US had lifted sanctions to other countries but they still prohibit US entities from engaging transactions with Iran.
This means it is not possible to handle US products or to involve US entities for transactions with Iran.
Furthermore, once Iran fails to keep agreement, sanctions will snap back.
It is recommended to include such an escape clause in the newly developed contract.
Japan authorities are planning to revise end user list soon to remove some Iranian entities.
In the event of the revision, we will also revise our end user list (YCP-L301) and announce to you all.
