One of the hot topics in business schools today is the concept of knowledge management -- making sure that all of the important institutional and operational knowledge of a business is available everywhere it is needed, and not just limited to a few managers/executives. The creation of a "learning organization" -- a business that focuses on keeping employees connected to the entire production process by making sure that tacit knowledge becomes explicit knowledge -- is the general goal to optimize knowledge management.
