In the spring of 2014 premiered season 1 of the sci-fi series called The 100. The new TV series from the CW channel has become one of the largest TV projects in recent years and gained immense popularity. After a successful season 1 of The 100, the producers of the show renewed the series for a second season, which was released in the autumn of the same year.
What will happen next? Will we see season 3 of The 100? We will be able to find out the answers to these questions very soon.
This post-apocalyptic drama series tells a story about one hundred young offenders, who were sent to a lifeless Earth, where almost a hundred years ago a nuclear Armageddon had taken place.
In the new conditions, in order to survive, the young people will have to overcome many disagreements within the group and begin forming new order on earth that has changed significantly over the last 100 years.
If season 2 of The 100 will manage to repeat the success of the first, then we can most definitely expect a continuation of the story in season 3 of The 100. If the series will be renewed, we should see the new episodes in the summer of 2015.
UPDATED June 21, 2015: The CW has just released the official synopsis for The 100 season 3. The season 2 finale saw Clarke and Bellamy using radiation to kill all the Mountain Men, including Maya. By the end of the episode, Clarke decides to leave Camp Jaha. The synopsis and the tweet by Jason Rothenberg (executive producer) hint that Clarke might be heading to Polis in order to escape the guilt of murdering the Weathermen. Also, much to fans disappointment, The 100 season 3 will only premiere in 2016. The network hopes that the year-long wait between seasons 2 and 3 will encourage those new to the show to catch up on previous episodes on Netflix, giving The 100 "the audience it deserves." UPDATED March 12, 2015: On Wednesday, March 11, 2015 the fans of the ever so popular television series The 100 enjoyed the final episode of season 2. So, what can viewers expect in the next season? Jason Rothenberg, the executive producer for the series, described the finale of season 2 as The 100‘s “Empire Strikes Back moment,” with everyone at their lowest points. As for how the storyline goes in the upcoming season 3 of The 100, here is what Rothenberg said: “We told the story of Mount Weather in full, so in season 3, we’re going to tell a different story. It’s going to feel like the same show — it’s populated by the same people in the same world — but we’re going to expand the playing field yet again.” Are you excited about the news twists and turns in the next season?
UPDATED January 11, 2015: It was officially confirmed by the management of the CW channel that the series The 100 has been renewed for season 3. It was an unprecedented event: all scripted series on the CW’s fall schedule will make it to next season. While most of the renewals were no-brainers, such series as The 100 had rather modest ratings and was considered a bubble show last season.
